Anyone using a solar powered skimmer?

I love my Betta SE Plus. Not gimmicky. Does a great job clearing small floaties and helps to keep the skimmer clear. Pushes stuff off the sides and in areas of weak circulation.

This is a good thread. I opted for the 3 year warranty for some piece of mind.

Thanks, how about leaves? Not talking about leaves in the fall, but leaves after a good windstorm.

What makes you think you need a secondary skimmer?
Have you done everything you can to fine-tune your existing skimming?
Do you have a variable speed pump?
Do you have adjustable "eyeball" return fittings?

I only ask because I'm projecting. I have all the automation I could bolt on to my pool. And I will be spending most of today fixing one of my systems. Then tomorrow fixing a different one. The more gizmos, the bigger p.i.t.a. you'll have.

I have 2 skimmers weir doors on the skimmers, variable speed pump, full automation.

And 2 Betta solar skimmers. I dont like anything floating in my pool. I am an overkill kind of person.

These things have come along way in the last few years. The current Betta’s are turning out to be very reliable. While my Betta 2 required frequent repairs, my Betta SE and Betta SE Plus have both been running for a year with no issues.

Thats pretty good for a robot that costs in the $350 range. As always I recommend getting the longest warranty possible.

While we are talking about warranty their service is excellent. They ship you a refurbished on and you ship you old one back. They pay for all the shipping as part of the extended warranty purchase.

The regular price on their website is $329. It is nice to have the 30 day return window via Prime. If I recall correctly, Betta gives you 30 days to buy the extended warranty.
