Unfortunately our pool is near a messy Mulberry tree (the neighbor’s). Has anyone used a solid cover like the one pictured that has mesh drain holes in it? Pros vs cons? We currently use a solar cover and a mesh leaf debris cover on top of that but debris still gets in and also slides in when we take the solar cover off.

I always used the pool brush to sweep bigger debris to an easily reachable spot, then scooped it off before rolling up the cover. Ditch the leaf net for a couple days and try sweeping the solar cover instead.

You could run the pool under the solid cover indefinitely if you wanted, how long do you think you need ? A week or two or the whole summer ?

You can peel the cover a bit to test/dose/add/brush FC. It will lose less FC per day once shielded and you'll have to test more often at first until you learn how it responds.

You may want to think about a solid winter cover. Since it is spring and summer youll want to keep it pretty clean to make it easier to take off without a hassel. I get a lot of debris on my winter cover in the fall and spring. I usually use a skimmer or leaf net to scoop off the stuff. This spring I had a "great" thought of using my hose to put all the stuff in one place to make collecting easier, I think it worked great. I use a sump pump for the water but that's because the water is kind of yucky having debris on it for a while, I would imagine if you are clearing the cover a lot the water won't be bad.
