Anchoring or "Locking in place" the solar cover straps into the reel???

I was wondering if anyone one had any ideas on a way to lock in place the straps into the reel of a solar cover reel??? I ordered a solar cover reel from amazon. the straps rom the blanket "slide" into the grooves of the aluminum tube......... the thing is that while the system works very well at preventing the the straps from detaching from the pole, it does nothing for preventing the straps from sliding from side to side.... does anybody know if anybody sells something that would help??

Most strap brackets use self tapping machine bolts/screws to attach to the reel. It solves that problem but creates another when they come loose and you need bigger bolts or move then all an inch for fresh pipe. Mine looked like Swiss cheese after 5 years.
