Hello all! I am betting this question has probably been asked 100 times per season..and I apologize for the redundancy. However, I am thoroughly confused about which AutoBot Pool cleaner to purchase for my AquaSport 52 "On-Ground" pool? I say on-ground because the AquaSport 52 can be buried completely in-ground or set completely above ground. My particular pool is buried only 18" to 23" above the ground. It is a 15' x 30' oval pool.
It is built with 4" thick aluminum panels that interlock and it is an extremely stout pool. The vinyl liner is held on by the use of a J-Channel drip edge so you never have to remove the top rail in order to change the liner.
I am telling you all of this because I am having a hard time deciding which Auto Pool cleaner I should purchase. There are sooooo many choices out there...that it really makes it difficult.
So let me begin by stating my requirements by breaking them down into two categories... "my must-haves" and my "would like to haves."
Must Haves...
"Clever Clean Technology" meaning the robot will map out the pool and clean without going back over the same spot consistently.
Schedule time and day timer
Track wheels. - The 4 wheel models seem to not provide as much traction as the track wheels.
Would Like to have...
Wall cleaning - But ONLY if it makes sense and is SAFE for my vinyl pool liner.
Mobile App and WiFi capable
Ultra Fine filter - or at least upgradable to a ultra-fine filter (really I think this could be a must-have as well )
I don't want to say money is no object...because it ALWAYS is...but with that said...I don't want to purchase an inferior product either.
I have been looking at the following models and have added comments about each below...
Polaris P70 (Leslie Pools) 519.00
Dolphin E10 (Leslie Pools) 579.00
Dolphin Nautilus CC Plus
Dolphin Escape (leaning heavy towards this one - but does not do side walls or has a timer)
Dolphin Cayman - I saw a video where "The PoolNerd" said it can be used for in-ground or above ground - but the manaufacturer says only for in-ground pools...so I am worried about my liner.
Pentair Warrier SL - Has all the must haves but I am very worried about it damaging liner.
So with all of the above, I am guessing that "the WEIGHT" of the unit plays a big part of the thoroughness of cleaning (meaning ..the heavier the better it runs across the floor)...but also..."the WEIGHT" is also a bad thing when climbing the walls on a vinyl liner..(meaning the heavier the unit...the more weight it pulls down on the liner...es[ecially from the j-channel)
Anyway...can anyone jump in here and help me out? My budget really is anywhere from 500.00 to 1300.00 so any recommendations or advice would be very much appreciated.
