Adding A Sump Pit

When our FG pool was installled four well points were installed to alleviate a ground water issue. They are piped to the equipment pad and so obviously I can’t see where the water level is. I’m considering installing a sump pit near the pool so I can monitor the ground water level. How near to the pool would the pit have to be? How deep are they typically?

My dry well pit is right next to the skimmer lid (looks like two skimmer lids side by side) and when I look down the large PVC pipe I can see the gravel base that is under the pool. So putting one in after the fact would require you to be able to get into and under the pool base (gravel, I hope?).

Are you sure those four well points aren't handling the ground water? What is the end point at the equipment pad? Is it a large opening that you can drop a sump pump in to?

The two ends (2 well points per) are capped 1.5" PVC about 50' from the pool. I believe I could attach a pump to those ends if needed to remove ground water if it became necessary to empty the pool.
I wanted to be able to just look in to see where the water level was. Just curiosity I guess really. I'd have to go through the concrete deck to put in a pipe that would go to the gravel base. That's not happening.

Have you uncapped the pipes and stuck a rod down to see how deep they are and if there is any water in the pipes?

I have not uncapped to look inside. The vertical section of pipe only goes down a couple of feet before turning horizontal and running to the pool.

Do you have a pic of how the pipe is connected to the sump pit by the pool?

If you can get your hands on a plumbers camera on a snake you can put it down the pipe and see how far you can get and see.

Even if I could get to a point where I could see water I don't think it's likely I'd have any idea what level it's at.

From the pics it looks like the pipe runs horizontally at one level. If the water is above the level of the pipe inlet it should fill the pipe and the level in the vertical pipe should follow the level in the pit.

You cannot see a water level below the pipe inlet.

I believe the pipe rises a couple of feet to the equipment trench. Yeah, I hope the water level isn't high enough that It would be visible in that vertical pipe. That would be pretty high. Unless some type of hydraulic pressure would push it up.
