I have a ~10 yr old existing pool enclosure and I want to convert a large flat section of the bird cage to the composite solid style to add more under cover area to patio. Anyone have any experience with that in repaired to cost, outcome or even contacts in the Tampa bay of Florida area. Thanks .

Sorry no help here - but I wanted to remind you to be sure to consider the wind "uplift" force that will become a factor when you switch to solid roofing over the patio.
I'm in central FL and do not have a screen enclosures, however I have lots of neighbors with screens and many of them blew away or were damaged from tropical storms and hurricanes (and they did no have any solid roof panels). The wind force on just a screen alone is more than one might imagine. I had the 8x12 screen enclosure around my garden lift up and move about 2 to 3 ft during hurricane Matthew (which wasn't all that bad/windy in central FL).

I'm not trying to talk you out of anything, just want to be sure you consider all aspects of this change.

CountryBumpkin's advice is solid. I really doubt your birdcage could withstand the uplift of high winds from a thunderstorm id you put a roof on it.

Check with PB's in the Tampa area for some advice about wind loads.
