90 degree return fittings - what the heck happened to them?!

When I bought my house, 10 years ago, it came with the first pool I ever owned (the tiny 3 foot deep kiddie pool my parents took care of doesn't count... I just jumped in). Inground, vinyl liner, 16x32 rectangle, with what I learned is an odd deep end slope, about 15,000 gallons. It had a right angle return fitting, in the deep end (picture included). It provided a perfect circulation to the skimmer and I had no idea how awesome it was.... Until my liner was replaced and the pool guy did me a "favor" by giving me a brand new eyeball fitting to replace my aging 90 degree fitting. Dang did that mess up my pool routine. Debris collecting in the deep end and not making it to the return. Longer turnaround time with the filter. No matter the direction I pointed it, I couldn't get a good circulation with it. Luckily I had my old one stashed in the shed and in less than an hour after switching it out, the debris on the surface of the pool is happily sitting in my skimmer basket. Long story short (TOO LATE!) I couldn't find any fittings like my old one to order online (mostly amazon) and the local pool shops don't have them either. Anyone know where to find these?!

Welcome to TFP.

That has a few signs that it was a home brew return and not a commercial product. I see rough cuts and glue lines where it was assembled and the paint is different between the angle and the base, unless you have repaired and painted it.

I think you can take some eyeballs and glue a cap with a cut out on it.

@kadavis @JamesW @Jimrahbe you ever see these?
