Hi guys! A few months back I had a couple of cheap plastic gears fail in my Polaris pool robot. The fix required purchasing an entire, $250 gearbox assembly. Instead of shelling out hundreds of bucks for the gearbox, I decided to reverse engineer and 3D print my own replacement gears. They worked great! So great that I decided to post them up on Etsy so that others could have a cost-effective way to repair their robots without shelling out tons of money for a large, unnecessary subassembly.

Selling these has been a really fun and rewarding little hobby and I love hearing the success stories from happy customers. I would love to find even more replacement parts to help get people out of a repair part pinch. I am sure there are other instances where certain parts on our expensive pool cleaners fail regularly so I wanted to throw out an offer in case others might be interested! If you have a gear, clip, bracket etc. fail on your robot and have a hard time finding a reasonable replacement, I would be happy to reverse engineer and design a replacement for you free of charge. Just shoot me a PM, preferably with pics, describing the issue and the lack of commercially available or reasonably priced solutions. If it looks like something I could make, mail me the broken part and I will design a replacement in CAD, print it and I will mail you back a few replacement parts. In exchange for the free parts, I would just like the ability to throw the replacement parts I designed up on my Etsy shop.

I would love to keep helping others save their nearly functional Pool cleaners in the trash so if you have any ideas or are in need of parts, please don't hesitate to reach out to me!

Here is a link to my little online shop if you are curious: makeSURFmake - Etsy

Thanks!
