Biggest ripoff chemical at pool store?

I was poking around and saw a product called Cell Protect. It's 0.5% - 1.5% citric acid at $20/bottle. And they recommend a bottle monthly. Wow.

OMG! "Cell Protect"??!? Talk about adding problems and wasting cash. AND it's gonna just eat up chlorine each time you add it and as long as its in the water. Geeesh!

Sidenote: Dishwasher cleaners are the same type product. Just buy a 25cent packet of unsweetened Lemonaid Kool-Aid and it'll do the same thing. Far Cheaper.

Afraid I have to disagree with you on this. I thought so too, until I started using them. I certainly don't use one every month like suggested, but it makes a huge difference in my d/w performance. It does more than just smell like lemons. Not sure where you're getting your kool-aid, but here is doesn't contain enzymes that break down bits of food that clog jets. If it does, I'd suggest you don't drink it.

What particular enzymes does yours have? Every dishwasher cleaner I see on the shelves contains citric acid that does all the breaking down of footstuffs. Guess you got Di$hwasher-stored!

Maybe you need to do a bit more reading before telling other people what they should and shouldn't believe.

100% of the items that go into my dishwasher are 100% free of debris. Always. I use the dishwasher to sanitize not to clean food away.
