Hello! I am installing a best way 12x24 pool on a level.concrete slab. I want to put something between the liner and the concrete to protect from rubbing. I was looking at the .5" foam boards. Are they strong enough? Do I also need a rhino liner pad?

In your case, placing a pool on concrete, it's all about comfort, so you have options. XPS insulation pads, Gorilla Pads, Rhine, etc are all plausible. Personal choice really. No need to have more than one, just whatever you think would feel nice to your feet.
