Hi, im fairly new to this pool thing.... so intex pump started making super loud noise....replaced shaft seal, bearings and still not back to normal...so went out bought a 1.5hp pump without researching or knowing anything about these things. So now that i am back home, im wondering can i use the pump with my 14in sand filter? also is there anything i can perhaps make or buy to filter the water before it hits the skimmer, i dont want to clog thi new pump and end up having to buy new one

No it’s single speed,
VEVOR Swimming Pool Pump, 1.5 HP 115 V, 1100 W Single Speed Pumps for Above Ground Pool w/ Strainer Basket, 5280 GPH Max. Flow… yes I am using skimmer sock but I feel like it needs to be rinsed every 30 min to avoid any issues

That single speed may be a bit too strong for a 14 inch filter. Have you installed and tried it out yet?

Maybe post a pic of the pad and pool set-up so we can see everything?

what can happen if I connect a 1.5hp pump to 14in filter?
Since it's a single speed, the high rate of slow could push sand out of the filter and also not be as effective in filtering. Just too much power for such a small filter. Looks like the 14" combos advertise a 0.6 HP pump.
