125 - 250 PPB Phosphates...would you guys dump the PR-10000 in before season/filter cleaning or let it ride?

Super glad you guys said that! I was dreading clouding the water up before I'm going to add these borates here soon and really see what that's all about!

125 - 250 PPB Phosphates...would you guys dump the PR-10000 in before season/filter cleaning or let it ride?

Thank you guys. Yeah, that's why I put PPB...it's such a small number relative to the volume and in addition to that...I could have viewed the test wrong this time or last so I may not have gained anything anyway and or might even be at 125 ish ppb. Thanks again

125 - 250 PPB Phosphates...would you guys dump the PR-10000 in before season/filter cleaning or let it ride?

I don't test but maybe once per year for Phosphates...I didn't log it in PoolMath last time when I bought the test kit but I recall my numbers right in this same range. I'm probably at the 250 PPB but I'm not really used to the blue shades on this test so call it 250 to be safe. No visible...

    Tablet floater during winter?

It was about 1 month of the pool guy/pool store and I knew "this isn't right". So thankful to have found this place.

    Tablet floater during winter?

Thanks so much. That's what I was thinking...one floater to add CYA and I've got about 12 extra CalHypo tablets sitting in a container to burn so why not toss a couple in a separate floater and let the CH/CYA drift higher a bit. I actually did float one when we left for a couple weeks and...

    Tablet floater during winter?

This winter I haven't needed much chlorine so far. Maybe a few gallons worth the last 3-4 months with the cold water temps. Pool lost about 100 PPM CH and maybe 30-40 CYA in that time span which also brought 40 inches of rain. With no one swimming for months...I'm curious as to whether any...

Anyone know which return fitting I need?

Pics attached. I tried to unthread last year and it didn't seem to want to come out. Functions fine but I'd prefer to fix the cosmetic damage on the bezel. Thank you, Donnie

    Pentair VSF pump error

I was questioning my reasoning on the pump speed is because you said "run pump faster and clean filter more" Say 750 rpm on my pump is about 40 watts draw...1400 rpm is about 125 watts...the difference is like 20 cents per day or 50 cents per day...it's not enough to where I care about the cost...

    Pentair VSF pump error

Thank you. I really wish it could measure GPM somehow so the pump would ramp up RPM as filter gets dirty to maintain GPM.

    Pentair VSF pump error

Hey Allen @ajw22 , My 011056 pump has thrown this same error code over the last few weeks once or twice. It seems to only happen when I'm stopping/starting the pump quickly when changing settings on the schedules for example. I've been working with Pentair to get them to add the feature...

    Hair nets that work

I see what you're saying about the sock floating up while the basket stays down...it's just not something I worry about with pump running 24/7 I guess. With a SWCG and VS pump...why would we NOT want to run 24/7?

Converting to Rola-Chem for liquid chlorine dispensing

Like everyone will tell you here...you'd be better off to add the SWCG. In my opinion and do the work to setup an acid dispenser. Then you really have the hands off setup you desire.

How do YOU drain a Pentair Quad filter that's sitting on a patio deck or walkway when you're changing the DE?

Yes sir. If you have enough room under there to put some type of elbow to ball valve..that's what I initially tried...after cutting 3 different 90 degree elbows I just couldn't get enough room...if you really want to pull it completely out and flip it upside down and get really good access to...

    Hair nets that work

I run pump 24/7...net stays down. Rock will always keep basket from floating in net or under net :) With a properly functioning weir door, it’s the same as the basket floating up to the top. The debris should still stay in skimmer

How do YOU drain a Pentair Quad filter that's sitting on a patio deck or walkway when you're changing the DE?

I keep a shop vac in the pump house and clean it out in 30 seconds.

    Seauto crab circles

Try the smonet app...see if it will let you update the firmware. Most have had issues with the Seauto app itself when going to update the firmware. I can control mine via bluetooth through the app just fine. But I never updated the firmware and make sure to leave that setting off (auto...

How often do you guys fire your heater in the winter?

Thank you guys. Sorry to overthink it. It's an expensive part of the pool that's older and I'm hoping to do whatever I can to prolong the life of the equipment & run as efficient/cost effective as possible in all facets of the pool/landscape/lighting maintenance.

How often do you guys fire your heater in the winter?

Thank you. This is what I read previously...I don't know if it's better to just leave off until Spring or fire up a couple times and let it run for 30 minutes or fire up a couple times and let it go to 50-60 degrees then shut off for another month or?

How often do you guys fire your heater in the winter?

Our pool drops to about 45-50 degree water temps at the coldest points throughout winter. It's too cost prohibitive for us to keep it at or above 60-65 degrees which from my understanding is the low side "safe temp" to fire up a gas pool heater. From my understanding it is also a good...

Yesterday was my last DE change

Another advantage in my opinion, is that with the DE filters if you swim at night or use the lights in your pool, it will definitely have more crystal clear water if you’re using a DE filter correctly.
