    Aiper Scuba S1 Review

Thought I would give a follow up on the Scuba S1 Pro. I ran at 4 or 5 times. If in floor mode, it consistently got lost in a corner either in the deep or the shallow end. My pool walls are sloped somewhat and I suspect that that had something to do with it. When running in floor/wall mode it did...

    Aiper Scuba S1 Review

I have a new N1 Pro also. It runs much better in wall/floor mode. Mine also got stuck in the deep end in floor only mode.

    Plaster discoloration

Vitamin C appears definitive to me. Checked the infill water with high dose chlorine. Remains clear with no discoloration. Vit C tabs on two spots with almost clearing at 4-5 min. Think this is related to dirt brought to the site that is very red, probably a red clay mix. That surrounded the...

    Plaster discoloration

New pool here. Fill dirt was substantially red with a fair amt of clay. Seeing some staining that I can’t seem to remove. Tried a wire brush without much success. Any thoughts?

    Meet Ralph

Meet Ralph, a new Betta SE Pro. Charged for about an hour, seems happy. No issues with the skimmers thus far. Like that the daily crud (pollen?) is gone. No issues at 24 hrs. Did seem to fight the wind and returns a bit when the pump was up. We’ll see how it goes.

Adding CYA to pool for first time

Well the initial CYA is finally about in. Checked today.. CYA was 35-40. Prob will change overnight if I'm understanding. Added Calcium 10# this am. Initial CH has been around 150 and has held steady. How long after sprinkling 10 lbs Calcium should I wait before assuming CH test is stable...

Adding CYA to pool for first time

I began adding CYA to a new pool yesterday. Put about 2.5 lbs in a stocking and placed in a skimmer. o-ACE-sis brand from Ace Hardware. After 12 hrs, minimal decrease in size of the blob. I took it out and suspended the stocking in front of a return. I've milked the stocking throughout the...

    Hi Y'all from Mississippi

Hotty Toddy back at 'cha! Saw a really good You Tube on the pump I have. I have now programmed it to run at a higher flow (55GPH) for 3 hrs at night, and at 20 GPH through the day. 5 AM to around 7 pm. Gonna try the pool sweep and see if I have enough juice to run it at those settings. Also...

    Hi Y'all from Mississippi

Continued Newbie questions: I'm beginning to cut my pump back, as it has been running high 24/7, and I realize this is not necessary. What would be a good starting schedule? I am using a chlorinator for the time being, but do plan to use chlorine liquid additive or totally in the future...

    Hi Y'all from Mississippi

Thanks. PB actually started the sweep. I have a plaster finish. White. Not certain of the brand. So, it's OK to begin pH and chlorine adjustment?

    Hi Y'all from Mississippi

Thanks all. Builder began chlorine with tabs and pucks 2 days ago. I understand that will gradually raise the CYA. I do have chlorine and muriatic acid on hand, along with CYA. Pool is clear, looks good. Startup-TEC was used at the time of pool fill. I've read about plaster dust, need for a...

    Hi Y'all from Mississippi

The pool is actually complete. Filled the pool initially about a week ago. Plaster, inground pool. 16X36, calculated volume is 16000 gallons. Began chlorine per builder last night with chlorinator. I plan to use bleach for the most part. pH is over 8, CC now 1.2, TA is 150. Thinking I...

    Hi Y'all from Mississippi

Hi there. I'm a retired, obviously crazy old man just beginning life with a new pool. My wife has always wanted a pool, and we finally decided to build one at our new home in Oxford, MS. She had a pool in her high school years. I've never experienced pool care or ownership at all. We'll...
