Thank you! And i am already working on the polyfill bucket method that mknaus pointed me to for the links dealing with iron, and i can actually say 4 hours in and i already see a difference!

    Good to know!

Ohh okay that clears things up, so what if my FC is higher than 10? How do i get an accurate ph reading, do i just have to wait until my fc comes below 10? Or does cya level play apart? Im at 45ppm cya
  7. I

    Green pool

I may have just been confused on how he worded it before, i thought he was saying, if my FC is above 5ppm my Ph reading will be inaccurate
  8. I

    Green pool

Ohhhh so just the FC is inaccurate but my Ph reading will still be accurate correct?
  9. I

    Green pool

Haha, ill lay her the news while she’s peeling away crawfish this weekend

If i buy the tf-100 the ph test it has looks exactly like the one i have, is there anything else it has that gives an accurate ph reading while above 5ppm fc? Just wanting to be sure before ordering & it also be an inaccurate ph reading due to high FC

    Heck yeah!
  13. I

    Green pool

So basically with a cya of 45ppm round to 50ppm & it is safe to swim in up to 20ppm fc?
  14. I

    Green pool

Yeah getting into this i didnt think a little above ground intex pool would be so much work, wife but off and now im chewing, but mknaus says my ph wont even read accurate if my fc levels are higher than 5 with my kit, so im gonna just go ahead and order a kit and tell her about it after it arrives
  15. I

    Green pool

Wow i did not know that, well im just going to order a kit and ask for forgiveness (: haha
  16. I

Thanks for all the info guys!! Really truly appreciate it

    Green pool

i do have one quick question again.. if my CYA is 45ppm, what is a safe FC level to swim in?
  18. I

    Green pool

well i have Cya tube/ separate tube for TA & CH, and then the one for Ph & FC, i will probably just order me a test kit after this month lol the wife is ready to kill me with all the spending ive done this month.
  19. I

    Green pool

Jeez my little ole intex pool is a fraction of that size in gallons lol, but i definitely get where you’re coming from, so is the main thing that separates these “cheap test kits” and the ones you guys recommend the ability to test FC with (FAS/DPD)? Because if so amazon has the taylor K 1515...
  20. I

    Green pool

Yeah i get that, its just what i had/have on hand at the moment, im trying to fit everything into budget and have already spent $250 on chemicals the past week trying to fix this green pool :/ well the biggest let down was $65 for Culator & $39 for “no metal” lolll feels like i just shredded up...
  21. I

    Green pool

Ahh okay, the only difference the test kit you recommended from the one i have at home is the (fas/dpd) chlorine test, the one i have at home has everything else that one does
  22. I

    Green pool

It seems relatively accurate because the TA has been decreasing day by day

  25. I

    Green pool

Well even when testing with the kit i have is what i got myself too, i am seeing you guys have a recommended kit thats only $50 which seems reasonable i may order that one
  26. I

    Green pool

i do plan on it, but at the moment with everything ive got going on its not in the budget, my ph is at 7.2 right now and alkalinity is 125 so im going to try adding maybe a half gallon or less of muriatic acid and then just aerating to bring ph back up some
  27. I

    Green pool

Well actually, the pool was green before i ever added any chlorine to it… it was clear green from day one
  28. I

    Green pool

I was using the hth drop test kit, and also bringing water samples daily to pool store
  29. I

    Green pool

Haha great good to know! Just gonna let my FC come down some then since i clearly dont need to be slamming if its iron the cause, having a crawfish boil for mothers day and wanted everyone to be able to swim, just gonna have to tell them to “imagine its destin/florida beaches” lol

    Green pool

“If” i cant end up removing it with the polyfill if it doesnt work or something
