From a Basic Lawn to Private Resort - We Have A Pool! Controlling Pollen...

Hi All, I just wanted to stop in and say that it's been almost 2 years since we emabarked on this journey of pool build/ownership. I have been maintaining it myself. I hire the guy who did my pool school once per year in the spring just to check the equipment and clean filters and make sure that I'm not breaking anything, he'll be out for 2025 on May 5th 😂. Everything that I've learned has come from TFP! I love this site and the invaluable advice. This year the pollen has been pollening on another level here in GA and those sweet gum and pine tree fronds have nearly taken me out with our pool. We had a slight algae bloom about 4 days ago and I was able to wipe it out by following the SLAM, OCLT, and brushing 2 to three times a day, and about 8 to 12 hours of running my robo vaccum around the clock and cleaning it too. I used about 6 gallons of 10% throughout this period but everything is now back to normal, and TFP Clear. We are overcast and rainy today so no pics to share, but I just wanted to drop in and say thanks!!!

@elleb You have a beautiful pool! I do have a question though. This year will be my 1st down here in GA with a pool. Up north we closed it, and forgot about it. I would like to do that, but my wife is fighting me on that. So i will give it a go this year, and re access. How often were you cleaning the Crud out during the fall? Also, wondering how much LC were you adding in Jan and Feb? I am assuming minimal. Just looking for a point of view. Thanks, and Happy Swimming!
