After a few weeks of trying to get my pool in balance,I have done research but have not been able to get things in balance. My pool is an inground with vinyl liner and steel frame with a Pentair filter system and salt generator. The bottom at the deep end is not straight sided tapers down to a smaller footprint at the bottom and I am trying to estimate what the volume is in the pool.
The results I’ve gotten so far from trying to manage acid and alkali have been either too much or too little based on my estimate so I’m thinking that I might go on the low side and try to get things in balance based on those calculations. I am going to buy The TF 100 test kit and turn off the salt generator and see what happens.

Bad data makes bad results.

We'll be able to dial it in with reliable testing once the kit arrives.

Got a picture of the pool and the basic measurements ?

Would you feel comfortable recommending a test kit for this saltwater setup? Would like to get that ordered while going through the Pool Care Basics - Trouble Free Pool per your recommendations. Thank you for your help!

+1 any day of the week.

If you're particuraly set on the TF100, you need the TF100 salt. It's entirely functional and has the same supply allotment (a huge plus) as the TFPro.

The included stirring device of the TFpro is worth it's weight in gold IMO, as is the organization of the nicer case. Both are available as add ons to the TF100salt.

I also always recommend the slam option for newbs or those with swamps as both will be testing FC much more often at first. The slam option doubles the FC test supplies to get them over the extra part.
