Hi all. This inline air release was installed and it’s now shooting water and leaking when in spa mode or spillover is turned on. Builder is saying they are going to cap it. Won’t that defeat the purpose of it being there? Is it needed/recommended? Any other fixes other than capping it? Thanks for any help that can be suggested.

That fitting appears to be a venturi tube for chemical injection rather than air injection. What is that used for?
If that is a venturi tube and you have a raised spa, the flow rate through the tube may not be fast enough to create enough suction to overcome the higher water in the spa.

Thanks for your reply. I do have a raised spa. The only thing they told me it was for is air release. I’m a new pool owner so I’m kind of just taking the builders word for it. What can I do to increase flow rate? when in pool mode I can hear air escaping but no water spills out.
