Have one now. Seems to be working well. Only been a couple weeks.

I have the 100 model.

Pressure gauge hasn’t really moved. Will backwash it though soon as it’s a new build. See how dirty it is.
Now, that you've have the DEP100 filter for a while, what are your thoughts on it? Did you have a pool before with another type of filter? Any comparison? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to TFP.

I would get the DEP filter.

The 48 size should be fine, the 60 size will be better and give you more time between backwashes.

Wondering if you have personal experience behind your recommendation of the Hayward DEP filters? I see you have a Pentair DE filter. I am considering a DEP80 for my 34,000 gal pool. Currently have a Pro Grid DE4820 (48 sq ft.). The DEP80 is quite a bit bigger (80 sq ft.), but I found it online at a great price. I'd go DEP60, but not available on line. I figure there is no harm in going bigger for filtering. The DE4820 cleans just fine, but I don't enjoy taking it all apart to hose off all the grid panels. Putting the assembly back together can be a real pain, too. Thanks for any insights!

Cartridges seem to be an upgrade in DE filter technology over grids.

Someday when I need to replace my 20 year old DE filter I am likely to get a Pentair Quad Cartridge DE filter.
