Okay so I am about to replace my multiport valve due to leak issues.

I’m going to have to cut the pipes due to the way it was installed.

So how would I go about unions and where do I buy them in person in order to get them today?

Are unions not the way to go? I attached one picture I found online.

High-temp pump unions are the best. It looks like you have 2" plumbing. You only need two, one for the inlet, one for the outlet. They seal with an O ring, so are tightened completely against the valve. They should be available at a pool supply. If there is a Leslie's in your area, they carry them. Amazon Prime has same day delivery in many cases, if you have that.
I only use unions on those ports. I use a standard adapter as you have on the backwash port with only the first length of pipe glued in. It looks like your backwash goes straight out the side of the room. That pipe can just be unthreaded and re-used.

So my current idea is cut in these 2 places.
Redo the left pip with a right angle.
Install a union type construct on each new straight near the multiport valve.

I deeply appreciate the feedback everyone! Thanks so much!

Basically I had been dealing with this leak for over a week now, and it was causing other issues.
So I had planned to take today off work to fix it, because I’m going camping this weekend.

I bought everything pool related online beforehand except unions.
I’ve never had to do this kind of thing before with my pool so I didn’t know which one would be best or where would sell in-store.

I ended up going with the setup I posted in my last reply and everything seems to work just fine.

I would’ve loved to also put a union at the pump as well but just have no time.

I attached the picture of the final product. It’s not perfect and it’s messy. But it works. Haha

Thanks again everyone.
