mysterious 3/4-inch pvc pipe

I'm trying to solve a puzzle of which line is what of an in-ground swimming pool.
I bought a house from a flipper. It comes with this pool and the flipper knows nothing about the pipe lines.
This swimming pool has two skimmers and one main drain, and 3 1.5-inch pvc suction lines come out of the ground and go to the pump. 2 of the 3 suction lines are connected with a 3-way diverter valve and then it joins to the 3rd line (which I assume to be the main drain suction line) and then it goes directly to the pump without going through any valve. Is it supposed to be so? should I add another diverter valve?

In addition to the 3 1.5-inch suction lines, there is another 3/4-inch pvc line connected to the main drain suction line with a TEE. What this pipe could be?

I got a swimming pool service to check it. The technician can't tell what the pipe is but strongly suggest me to redo the pipe lines to make them less turns. currently the pump can hardly prime and the pool service guy believe that so many turns and corners are the reason causing the water flow being bad.

Any advices?

D,

We need to see the whole equipment pad, not just a tiny part..

That pipe is most likely a water fill line... See if you can see connections to an outside faucet.. It could also be connected to a sprinkler system (As a water supply)

If it is a fill line, there has to be something that controls it

Do you have anything that has a lid that looks like a skimmer, but is not???

Thanks.

Jim,
thank you for your prompt response.
here are some pictures of the whole pad. Just in case you may ask, this pipe does not connect to the Polaris PB4-60 boost pump.
If it is a water fill line, would it be better to put it onto a return line? There is no faucet near. Neither is there anything controlling it. It comes from the pool but I don't see any additional suction port or water outlets can be related to this pipe. I don't see anything looks like skimmer, but is not, around or in the pool.

Dig the green circle out and see if it connected to the skimmer B pipe...

hello PoolStored,
Thanks for your prompt response.
No it does not connect to the skimmer B. In the picture in the original post, the 3 horizontal pipes in the dirt side by side are, from left to right, skimmer B, this mysterious pipe, and pipe from Polaris PB4-60 to port on swimming pool wall. They are all separated.

just an update. Without figuring out what the mysterious pipe is, I re-piped the pipes. I kept the mysterious pipe and it still connects to the pipe it was previously connected but I simplified all the connections by removing unnecessary turns and corners. I eliminated the previous diversion valve. Instead, I put individual valve to each pipeline, including the mysterious pipe. Now the water flow is much better. The pump can be fully primed now.
