Hello experts - it's a long story why but we have less than 24 hours to make this decision between our 2 finalists. I've made a comparison spreadsheet and would absolutely appreciate your expertise on some items where as new pool owners we aren't sure.
We are 3 miles from the ocean and near a large conservation area, if that matters.
We went through both proposals and some, but not all, the fine print and below are the questions. I will try to make them really clear and only choose the ones that seem to matter a lot vs aesthetics. One company is a bit more costly than the other but we want to avoid expensive repairs down the road and also, dumb choices
Pool is 15x30
No issues w design
We may screen it in so we'd have to include the footers
1. Pump: Jandy 2.7 or 1.85?
2. Filter: Jandy Pro DE no cartridge or Jandy w Cartridge?
3. Lighting: Jandy plastic or glass?
4. Salt system: Jandy Aquapure
5. Electric heater: Jandy Versatemp or Aquacal South Beach?
6. Gunite or shotcrete?
7. Thickness of shell - seems to be a competitive thing, what is safe and what is overkill in this area?
8. Timer: Jandy Pro Aqualink
9. Skimmer: Recessed w gunite and steel wrap or Turbo self adjusting w large basket
10. Drains: 2 anti vortex antip entrapment
11. Piping - anything to look for here?
12.Valves - Jandy Neverlube or other?
13. Eyeball inlets - anything to look for here?
14. Solar recirculating system - anything to look for?
15. Time Clock for filter - anything to look for?
16. Warranty items to look for? Both have "lifetime" on shells, any other key warranty items, other than standard mfr warranties?
17. Pool plaster warranty against cracking, streaking, etc - I thought certain plasters weren't susceptible?
18. Beveled v non-beveled pavers?
That's a lot I know but we are so concerned about making a mistake with our choice and need to know what's not 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. I'm sure you all understand.
Thank you so much!
