I’m looking to have you all check my logic….
I don’t have automation but I have the relay board installed on my Intelliflo3 pump and the “high current” side of the board is available for use. The “low current” side drives my IC40.
The 8450 has 2 wire control, the standard 24VAC fireman’s switch setup I believe.
It also has an auto temp mode for chill and as I understand the manual (pics attached for your reference) if I set the control to “Pool Auto” it’ll heat the water if it drops below my set point and cool it if it rises above my set band. 6° is the default setband.
Here is my thought… I run a two wire bundle from the heater to the relay and just use one side of the “line/load” terminals to control this fireman’s switch? Than I can set the on/off schedule in Pentair app so I only run when I want too. And, if I set the Pool Auto temps it should control temp per those settings so long as the relay is closed and HP is operating.
Am I on the right track here?
