Our inground pool seems to have started leaking after the filter was changed out. It only leaks to the level of the skimmer. There is also an attached jacuzzi. We dug out the pipes from the skimmer to the pump house and found and replaced a cracked pipe. Pool will still not hold water higher than the skimmer. We’re at a loss. We are on a small island and cannot just call “a pool place”, and are at our wits end… any ideas?

Welcome to TFP.

How many skimmers do you have?

Post pics of your pool and the area around the skimmer(s).

Where was the cracked pipe located?

What was the nature of the pipe crack?

If you have one cracked pipe then good chance you have another. Keep looking.

Where was the cracked pipe located? We found one pipe cracked, but the worker broke three more in digging out process.

What was the nature of the pipe crack? the crack was lengthwise on the pipe.

If you have one cracked pipe then good chance you have another. Keep looking. We will have the rest of the entire side dug out now.
I tried to answer in blue in the reply (hope that is okay!) I'm attaching photos of what I'm dealing with as best I'm able. Any thoughts will be appreciated!

You need to pressure test as much of your plumbing as you can.

I hate to expose myself for the neophyte I am… but how would one do that? We have scuba tanks available to us and maybe a small donut compressor, but how would you do this?

I have watched this video a number of times and am reasonably certain that we do not have anyone on this tiny island capable of running the pressure test as described… oh, heaven’s me…
Why? You have people on the island capable of making mechanical repairs to cars and boats.

You will need to acquire some specialized tools to find the problem. That can make you popular with the other pool owners on your Island.

We have ended up replacing every accessible pipe on the entire pool. Because of the digging we're not sure that we didn't cause more damage than was original, so we just changed every pipe we could get to. So far the leak has been contained...
