We’ve had a huge white spot with a blue streak in the deep end since pool was finished June 2022. PB said they would fix after swimming season before Summer 2023. Pool was drained yesterday and acid wash will happen today. After pool was drained, the entire pool of Pebble Sheen Blue Surf looks so faded, mottled and blotchy along with streaks in places and wide range of color variations from brown to white. There are a few spots that actually look like the color sample I chose. Sent pics to PB this morning asking if acid wash would fix it and suggesting it was installed incorrectly to begin with. PB said chemical imbalance can cause this, but acid wash will fix it and make it uniform. Is this normal? Why didn’t the 1st acid wash make it uniform? Any insight would be helpful. Thank you.IMG_9008.jpegIMG_8998.jpegIMG_9001.jpegIMG_9005.jpegIMG_9006.jpegIMG_8995.jpeg

Yes, that is normal for the way used plaster looks when drained.

Let us know how it come out after the acid wash and we can discuss more.

Need to fill the pool either faster or continuously until the water reaches the tile. Those "rings" on the bottom and at the wall near the top usually indicate a pool that had its fill interrupted before completely full.

So, they acid washed and it looks a little better, still blotchy, but not as white. I feel like it should all be the same. We chose Blue Surf, but lots of places are white. Is this normal for PebbleTec to have such variation in application? Was this a bad plaster job or acid wash from first time? Here are the after pics.

Plaster is not paint. It will not have the even look of paint.

Blues almost always come out blotchy but builders will not tell you that.

It should look fine with water in the pool.
