The two part Deck-o-seal definitely seems to hold up the best but it's much more work to install

Much easier to apply and deal with in general. It hasn't been out long so I don't know about the longevity but that's all I've been using for about a year now

We are half way through the repair/install of the new Deck-O-Seal. So far we have just done the demo - tearing out the old Sikaflex that failed. I am surprised with how well in adhered in some areas, but in others it was pretty sad. I am thinking my prep must have been poor.
In removing the old stuff I also think that the original foam spacer was a touch to tall - I didn't use backer rod and relied on the foam spacer, ever after removing the top tear away portion I think it was just a touch high which reduced the thickness of the sealant in some areas and made it fail sooner. I am also surprised with how much junk is in that foam area - dirt, concrete dust, cedar needles, etc...So again my prep originally could have been much better.
I have now cut the foam a long ways down and will install nice new backer rod tomorrow and add the new Deck-O-Seal.

I finished this yesterday - couldn't do the work on Sunday due to high winds and tons of stuff flying around, so I took a few hours off from work to finish it yesterday.
I do have a few observations.
* The Deck-O-Seal gray is darker than the SikaFlex self leveling we used before. The Sikaflex is almost off white in comparison.
* I like the pouches and had fewer spilled spots and mistakes compared to using the big caulk gun with the Sika-Flex.
* Our deck joints needed 1/2" backer rod on the short side and 5/8" backer rod on the long 30ft side. I set this about 1/4" down inside the joint.
* Two pouches was just enough to do one 17 foot side and one 31 foot side
* This material dries faster than SikaFlex - So when I finished a side I went back to add sand but it had already skinned over and I didn't think sand would really adhere.

Definitely iffy. The only thing funkier than the website was the guarantee, like "I guarantee it'll work." But nothing about if it doesn't! I started a thread about it. I doubt I'll be the test case, hoping someone else here was...
Photo came through, looks great.
How was it to install? Was it self-leveling? Could you build it up some if you had to? (Not all my joints are level anymore.)

It was easy to install - just hard on the knees! I think that is part of getting old right?
It was good at self leveling - however I noticed it would kind of curl up at the very edge as it met the concrete, or the coping, and it would not completely smooth out or create a nice transition in some spots - I just ran a knife blade along those edges to smooth the transition where it did this to make it look a little better. I think you could over coat it in the future - I would sand it a little and brush it with a little acetone before I put the new stuff down to make sure it adhered correctly.
I can see where I had to switch to the second pouch - I did one side first, but hadn't put the backer rod in the second side due to concerns about wind and junk getting in the crack before I could get to filling it. I think if you had all the backer rod installed and had the pouches open and waiting to switch them out when one was empty you would never have a transition to notice.
Here is a close up of what I am talking about...
This shows the "seam" where I started the new pouch 20 minutes after the previous pour. It also shows the edges where the material didn't quite feather out perfectly to the coping or the concrete - you can see the little turned edges in this close up showing this. I just ran a razor knife along those areas to smooth the caulking out a little further and give it a more feathered edge I guess.

Oh, yah, I guess you gotta keep a wet edge? I'll keep that in mind, to be ready to keep going without stopping. The Sika was more forgiving, in that it took longer to cure. The pics on the PoolSeal website look amazing, but of course that's marketing. No telling if I could recreate that on my first time out, or at all. I got one Sika install under my belt, so I know I can do better the second time, but I don't want to use Sika again. I'm just stalling, but I got get to it before winter...
