    Pool covered during summer, can I winterize without cleaning it?

    Due to lack of use and sky high Con Ed bills, we decided to cover the pool up during the summer. Now it's been months, the pool has algae buildup. I want to winterize the pool without the hassle of cleaning it. What risk am I taking?
