    Solar Cover Purchase

Lots of e-ink spilled on solar covers. Where's the most recent best place to purchase? Amazon feels expensive...

    Walmart went clorox salt

It's funny that you say that. Over the years, I've found that Walmart provides the best price and since it's a seasonal item, the salt there tends to be fresher and cleaner. Is there hard data to support this? No. It's anecdotal. When I went to HD tonight, their stock of Diamond Crystal...

    Walmart went clorox salt

Yes. I bought Pool Essentials liquid chlorine. But for salt, they only had Clorox. Seems Home Depot is stocking Diamond Crystal Splash, and if you buy six, it's actually cheaper than Walmart, so I'll pick that up tomorrow. This was meant to be a PSA--if you are looking for salt and trying...

    Walmart went clorox salt

Opening up in a week. Went to Walmart to stock up on liquid chlorine (pool essentials) and salt. I walk in and nooooo! 7.94 and ALL Clorox!

    Sump/Pool Cover Pump Recommendation

Thx. You liking the 1.6hp one?

    Sump/Pool Cover Pump Recommendation

The latter. Although I'm told I can/should be using a pool cover pump regardless. I see from another thread I found that it seems to be either the: Wayne WPCP250 57735-WYN1 with the magnetic float switch (not sure why this is better than the iSwitch or the Little Giant APCP-1700 The Wayne is...

    Sump/Pool Cover Pump Recommendation

So... We closed the pool in late October/early November. We followed all of the proper procedures: We lowered the water 8" below the intakes, blew out the lines, chemicals, etc. etc. We cover the pool with a loop-loc safety cover. With no snow, but heavy rains, the pool seems to be close...

When is good time to open on Eastern Long Island this year?

Here's another pro-tip: If you decide to go with the Puritech on Amazon, it's actually sold by Backyard Pool and Superstore. Buy it there - same price, free shipping, and...NO TAX.

When is good time to open on Eastern Long Island this year?

Opened up here on LI today. Pool was FULL TO THE BRIM...which has me kicking myself for not installing an infinity pool. It's gorgeous! Kids want me to leave it, but had to explain that the skimmers won't work. Anyway, before the close I dumped in whatever leftover shock/chlorine that I had...

Liquid Chlorine Cost Increase @ Home Depot

Did you really just say "pool store" on TFP? Oh boy...you'd better hope a moderator doesn't find you. They're gonna take you out back and show you what they do with people that go into pool stores! :) :) ;)

Liquid Chlorine Cost Increase @ Home Depot

Just set opening here on Long Island for March 28th for our salt-water pool. In anticipation, started looking at Walmart for Salt and Liquid Chlorine to do that initial slam and clean-up and also to chlorinate while the water is too cold to use the SWG. Last year's price at Walmart for Pool...

    Leftover liquid chlorine.

Ahhhh! Forgot about the SLAM! Therefore...this stuff is no longer "extra". I noticed that last year they threw in algecide. Afterward I grabbed the bottle and noticed that it has copper in it. Assuming I should tell them to save themselves the expense of the algecide and skip it?

    Leftover liquid chlorine.

We live in the Northeast. They are coming today to close the pool. In preparation, I lowered the water yesterday, and set everything up for them. I have four gallons of liquid shock left over from the season. Do I just dump it in and it should help things for the winter? Do I store it...

    Old fire hose

Yea...my last resort would be to do just that - cut one end of the hose, slip it over the pvc barb and clamp - the same way the blue hose is currently secured. But given that there's perfectly good threats there, and an easy way to get it on an off, I'd like to do a more eloquent solution - ie...
