    Problem with fading endpoint

Would you raise it to 250 or just leave as is? I live in Phoenix where the water is very hard as it is, so expect it to rise with evaporation and water fills. My CSI today is 0.0.

    Problem with fading endpoint

I just replaced the 5 year old cartridges after pebble tec install 4-5 weeks ago. They were green/slimy, but I assume this was from algae (which we had for a year prior to pool demo, thanks to the pool company using trichlor tablets weekly for my saline pool, which apparently never had salt...

Ok, thank you. Did not know. Was just trying to use what I have. Edit: why is sulphate bad?

    Problem with fading endpoint

Exactly same result. 50%pool+50%distilled+5 drops R-0012, then usual test: 10 drops x 10 x2 = 200 PPM CH. Starts out blue, 5 mins later turns purple, see pics. Can I trust the 200 CH? Why did you want me to redo it at 25ml and with fading endpoint test when I seemed to have avoided it with...

I did it with the 10ml test, see above. Is that not sufficient? Or not precise enough?

I’ve done this. With same result. See my response to @JamesW Thank you

    Problem with fading endpoint

Interesting stuff. 50%pool/50%distilled = 4 drops x 25 x 2 = 200 ppm CH I see this color progression: red->purple (for a second) -> blue. But I let the sample sit for another 5 mins and it turned purple. See pictures. Test results this morning (I have K-1766): 5.0FC, 8.0 ph (adding 200g dry...

    Problem with fading endpoint

well, I went ahead and did the tap water test twice and also tested my pool again for good measure. Tap water - blue and relatively homogenous, CH 125-150. Pool water - purple and with small clumps Leslie’s measured CH as 147, so close to tap water. I did add 1.5 lbs calcium chloride (per...

4 weeks. I’m curious - why would this matter? Something about curing of the pebble tec?

    Problem with fading endpoint

Fill large tube to 25ml 5-8 drops R-0012 (to avoid fading endpoint) 20 drops R-0010 5 drops R-0011L R-0012 drop wise, but it turns purple.

    Problem with fading endpoint

Thank you! Also curious if I can calculate CH based on the number of drops of hardness regent requires to turn the sample purple (rather than blue). Does anyone know?

    Problem with fading endpoint

Hi all, New TFP disciple here. I use the Taylor K-2006 kit. When I run the test for calcium hardness, even if I add 5 or 8 drops of the hardness reagent first, I still get the fading (purple) endpoint. 13k gallon pool, 4 weeks ago demoed old plaster and replaced with PebbleTec, thus recently...
