BioGuard BioLab UV sanitizer bulb replacement.

Right. I was just told you didn’t want much CYA for an indoor pool and to not use tabs/pucks as it will raise the CYA and no way to get rid of it for indoor pool (little to no water refill, no evaporation, etc.). So I didn’t add any when I filled the pool with fresh water. And had just been...

BioGuard BioLab UV sanitizer bulb replacement.

Still fine tuning the SWG. I had it at 25% power for 3-4 days and was barely getting 1ppm FC so put it on 24h turbo mode for a day. This was before I slowly added the CYA tho. So my CYA was probably less than 5. After I got my CYA to 20 or 30, the FC was 10. So I turned off my SWG for the last...

    Deep Clean Recs

Now that I’ve got my SWG up and running in my 17k gallon indoor inground pool with an automated cover, I want to tackle some deep cleaning and need recommendations. The pool is 14 years old, I purchased the house last fall and had many issues with less than optimal care from the previous owner...

BioGuard BioLab UV sanitizer bulb replacement.

Tested CYA again. With my TFT black dot test tube the lowest it can measure is a CYA of 30. When I filled the test tube all the way up, I could still clearly see the black dot. So my CYA must be much less than 30 (probably closer to the pool store’s 5 then?). Added the 99.7% pure NaCl slowly to...

BioGuard BioLab UV sanitizer bulb replacement.

I’m going to test my CYA again with my TFT test kit when I test the water next. I just haven’t done that in awhile because I’ve only been adding liquid bleach.

BioGuard BioLab UV sanitizer bulb replacement.

Ok. Should I just add some left over chlorine pucks to raise the CYA? Or some water conditioner?

BioGuard BioLab UV sanitizer bulb replacement.

Very little CCs since refilling with known good water. Sometimes 0 or 0.5 on my drop test. I just figured if I could get the UV up and running relatively economically, it would make the SWG’s job easier and let the cell last longer.

It’s an Aquamatic Hydramatic automatic pool cover system. I’m not exactly sure what the rails are made out of. But the manual online mentions salt water pools and to keep the salt level around 3000-3200 ppm max. https://www.aquamatic.com/wp-content/uploads/pdfs/Hydramatic_Owners_manual.pdf...

BioGuard BioLab UV sanitizer bulb replacement.

Right. I was just wondering if anyone had an easy solution for this. I have a Circupool Core-55 SWCG on the way I’m planning to self-install. But figured if I can get this UV system up and running since it’s already plumbed in line, it would just help the efficiency of the SWG. I’m just a bit...

BioGuard BioLab UV sanitizer bulb replacement.

I haven’t pulled the quartz sleeve yet, but I will if I can source a replacement bulb. Any other ideas on where to find this bulb? It’s 36” long. Here is the Wild West listing for the lamp: Custom Molded Products UV Replacement Lamp Assembly, Delta UV, Bio-Lab UV System | 1000-2670

That’s a big jump in cost. Installing a new UV would be $800 or more I’d imagine. Versus if I could source $40 bulbs to use.

BioGuard BioLab UV sanitizer bulb replacement.

I am looking to replace a UVc light bulb for my pool UV sanitation unit. It is a LC10 model number UV sanitizer by Bioguard BioLab (was told Delta UV made it for them). This unit is 14 years old (I just purchased the home last fall). The bulb I took out says 70-18420 BL (which I thought meant...
