Pool area landscape lighting

Random question that might need another thread, but some smart dudes are in here so I will ask. Thread hijack not intended. I have a big ol' Malibu or similar transformer plugged into GFCI with 30-40 lights running off of it. Can I switch just the bulbs to LED and use the same transformer...

    where to buy pool furniture

Costco has decent selection in the summer of good quality items. Frontgate online has excellent quality stuff and is pricey. Last year when I visited Phoenix we stopped by a really cool patio furniture store, can't remember the name, huge selection. J.

    Parrothead Pool Fun!

More Parrothead fun, I gasped at a few prices, great quality stuff though. Frontgate loves sending me emails and tempting me. http://www.frontgate.com/homeplusstyle/margaritaville/?storeId=10053&langId=-1&catalogId=10053?SourceCode=ZZ530341&cm_mmc=twitter-_-margaritaville-_-product-_-5115

Switch so sheer decents cannot turn on while cover is closed

The valve for my water feature has an actuator and is in the pool return line. The valve can shut water feature off 100% or divert any percentage of flow to the water feature and/or pool returns. [/IMG]

Switch so sheer decents cannot turn on while cover is closed

We have an auto cover that is run by a key switch on the wall. If the cover is open and the key is turned to start closing the cover the valve for our deck jets shuts. On the opposite spectrum, if the cover is closed and the key is turned to open the cover the valve opens to run the deck jets...

HELP NEEDED! - Pool Renovation in New Mexico

Re: New Pool in New Mexico We go end of April through early October. Spring winds are no fun, we keep the autocover shut unless we are in it to keep it clean/warm. Water is chilly until Memorial Day, we push it as far as we can into October because the boys have football/baseball and like it...

HELP NEEDED! - Pool Renovation in New Mexico

Re: New Pool in New Mexico PoolESQ, we are in Rio Rancho and coming up on our third full season of pool ownership. We love every minute of it, well at least when it is open, not when I am staring at it in the winter. Good luck! J.

    Best lounge chairs

We go the Costco route, they are on year three and doing well. Bought cushions at Lowe's and keep them put away unless they are in use, still look new after three years. I always drool over the Frontgate catalog and website, really nice stuff, a bit out of my reality price-wise J.

HELP NEEDED! - Pool Renovation in New Mexico

Re: New Pool in New Mexico Welcome fellow NM'er! I know the area you are in and it looks like a great place to chill and hang by the pool. Good luck on your project, it looks like a big one! J. p.s. looks like the light is in the far side of the pool shining at the house, there might not be...

    Post Halloween Weirdness

Didn't one of the Paranormal Activity movies have a possessed pool cleaner? Yikes. Having four boys between the ages of 8-16, that is where money is as well! J.

Is this on Intellibrite? I am having similar issue and will try method above this weekend. What color or show do you have the dial set to (manual controller) when you are doing the rapid on/off sequence? Thanks, J.

How much chlorine do you put in daily?

After reading through these, I need to get my CYA up to 50. CYA has been hanging around 20-25. I have only used bleach since startup 2 years ago and get a good amount of splash out with 4 boys in it everyday all summer. I feared the CYA monster after reading all the stories here on TFP and...

    Deck Jets

Here's a quick pic of the jets on, they can be adjusted to enter the pool at different angles. The kids and the dogs love 'em. It is a great feature and I would not hesitate to get them again.

    Deck Jets

I couldn't find any pics of the jets on my computer, I will have to take some this weekend. As far as closing, after I drain the skimmer and pump and open all the valves up I squirt some RV antifreeze back down the jets with a squeeze bottle. It has worked so far, in NM, with freezing temps...

    Deck Jets

I put six in to have some noise and action if we wanted it. I didn't care for any of the cascade options we had with our simple rectangle design. We love them, easy on/off as the valve is wired to the pool cover key, can also be run manually at the pad. I'll see if i can find a pic. J.

    Weatherproof cabinet for stereo receiver

I just got a cheap-ish nightstand/hutch/wine holder thing and had the upholstery guy make a waterproof cover for it. Works like a champ and keeps the sun/dirt off of it too when not in use.

    Frustated with Pool guy

That is a sweet pool! I wish I had a more tropical area around mine like that, lush! Stay on the method, it works. I am on my second year of pool ownership and have yet to buy anything other than a basketball hoop at the pool store. Opened my pool last week to crystal clear water with just...

    Water in standpipe

I was doing the monthly rounds yesterday, checking on the winter status of all the pool equipment. Took off the skimmer lid to see if anything exciting was going on in there. There was water in the standpipe. I am in NM so we do get freezing weather and all the equipment does get winterized...

Excellent. Thank you for the reply. I will give it a shot after our big 4th party. I don't why I had it in my head it broke down over time. Great site, great info, glad I found it and joined/supported. BBB is a piece of cake, pool store is a joke. J.

    Quick and easy salt question

Good afternoon! I am going to try adding a batch of salt on my non-SWCG bleach managed BBB pool to see how the "feel" is. Shooting for 2000-2500ppm. How long does it take for the salt ppm to lower/disappear? I figured it breaks down over time correct? Thanks, J.

I use Penofin here in the desert SW. Pricey, but great stuff. www.penofin.com I have used the blue label for many years with great success. Takes two coats to look great on bare wood. A single coat every two or three years after that. Good luck! J.
