    Pump Not Drawing Water

Bingo, that's exactly what I did! I started with the closest skimmer, then the furthest skimmer, then the main drains. A bit of trial and error, once I got the first skimmer going I cranked open the next one and that didn't work so good, so I went super slow and you can actually feel the water...

    Pump Not Drawing Water

Thanks ajw22! Should I remove the fittings and redo them with silicone pool lube? Or let it be and see if a leak occurs?

    Pump Not Drawing Water

This is the first spring pool opening since building the pool at the end of last summer. Took the cover off, looked much better than expected (really wasn't sure what to expect). Removed all the plugs, primed the pump, and no water was being drawn from either skimmer or the main drains. I...

Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

I saw the same at my Menards today. Still a better price than Walmart or any pool store in my area.

    Newbie looking for general advice

I don't have any technical info to add, I'm here to just let you know I built my own inground SWG pool last summer and with the help of so many people on here I was able to get the pool equipment and chemicals dialed in for perfect water. I'm still at the bottom of the learning curve, but I'm...

Has Anyone Seen An Architectural Water Slide Like This?

    Plumbing help

I built my first pool this year and asked the same question about pump schedule. Jimrahbe and Newdude responded to me just as they did to you. I wired my pump for 230V and it ran 24/7 for the last 4 months at 40% capacity which was around 1400rpm. This was enought to keep the SWG running at a...

    Where's my Jeep people?

That sucks! I've had good luck with all of my vehicles through AutoTrader. I've had 6 Jeeps over the last 25 years, I fly one way to pick them up. Got one in NY City, Chicago, Kansas City, Orlando, the one in my pics I found in Ft. Pierre, South Dakota.

Building a pool and nervous to make the wrong decisions

You're in the right place, I just built our first pool this year and had tons of help from the good people on TFP. Everything from the initial excavation to pool chemical setup and finally just last week the pool closing. I'm sure you'll find your answers here!

    Where's my Jeep people?

Closed the pool for the winter and now it's time to hit some trails. I built this last year, then got into the pool build and these are the are about the only rocks I've climbed so far.... We haven't really even been anywhere with it yet, where's your favorite offroad place to go?

Concrete coping/decking continuous rebar and construction joint???

b, we're on the same page! I enjoy the conversation, always good to have input from pool building experts. My pool building experience is very limited, but I have designed many hotels and private residences with pools and there's a great crossover in construction methods from pool construction...

Concrete coping/decking continuous rebar and construction joint???

I think people have some confusion with the term "coping". I have an aluminum bullnose, an actual coping, on top of my metal panels that the pool deck is poured into and it remains in place. I wouldn't pour a 12" strip of concrete then come back and pour a wider pool deck. A concrete...

Concrete coping/decking continuous rebar and construction joint???

I also just noticed another similarity, I've got taylor juniper trees coming on Thursday, looks like the same trees at the back of your pool! 😆

Concrete coping/decking continuous rebar and construction joint???

Good luck with getting yours wrapped up! We've actually been using ours for about 3 weeks, so we did have some good times this year, probably going to do the last of my homework on winterizing and close it down in the next couple weeks. :giggle:

Concrete coping/decking continuous rebar and construction joint???

I've only completed building my first pool for myself, just finished the last concrete pour today. I have however been in the construction industry for 36 years, have owned an architecture firm for 28 of those years providing design and c.m. services mostly on commercial projects. With that...
