Just demo'd my pool I'm replacing, and they used Stone Dust on the bottom--and it held up well for over 30-years. I had planned to do grout bottom on this new build--but the Stone Dust has me thinking. I know it be easy to install on the bottom of the pool, but my only concern is the slopes...

I just went through pricing my similar situation (vinyl lined pool--deteriorated when we bought the house). Priced with (4) different contractors--and even got a Fiberglass number. Typical Wall/Liner Pools were upwards of $75k, and the Fiberglass was outrageous ($100k+). I'm going the route...

Here are my thoughts: If I have a Wall Shelf that is lower (because of erosion) than the 40" walls--I will dig the shelf to the elevation I can get--and make the 2' overdig at that same elevation. Then I will bring that Wall Shelf back 'up' with Crusher Run to the required elevation of 40"...

Building my inground, and wondered do I 'shock' the water after refilling (to remove cloudiness) like I would a normal chlorine pool BEFORE I start the SWG system? Or does the SWG take care of any residual cloudiness? Never had one before, and the directions I was given aren't that great.
