Yes thank you very much in locating that gasket. And yes always pump off when rotating and in one direction but had in the past turned opposite direction maybe once or twice until I learned it's a no no. Thank you again!!

Thanks! I had everything winterized already and the bottom plug removed from the sand filter just a couple days ago but thought to myself about insects or anything blowing around that could get in the exposed holes. Never saw anything specific regarding those openings in my searches so figured...

I have decided to close my pool this fall and was looking for some clarification regarding winterization of my hayward 350lb sand filter. Do you need to cover/plug holes where sight glass and pressure gauge were or do you leave them open over winter? Thanks in advance!
