    Found in my filter basket

My pool is 2 years old. I found this in my filter basket a few days ago. It looks to be plaster and has an outside shape of a pvc pipe. Light weight and somewhat brittle. I’m thinking it might be the plasterers may not have had a drain sealed good during construction. Is it common to have...

    Adding acid to SWG pool

I recently converted my pool to SWG (thanks to help from TFP!). Been great so far. About to go on vacation and one of my kids is gonna take care of the pool for me. Looks like they will need to add acid a few times while I’m gone. When the IC 40 is generating, all the bubbles come out of one...

    Gate sensor

Thanks! That might work on the sensor side. The reflector side already sticks somewhat out in the driveway. Not sure I want to extend it further. It sits on a welded bracket, so it might be tough to move. I’ll have to do some measuring. Cheers

    Gate sensor

We do have a remote plus the gate opener works with our vehicles homelink systems. The photo sensor protects our vehicles by keeping the gate from closing whenever our cars are in the path of the gate. I bought the shields from Amazon. They’re about three inches long at the top.

    Gate sensor

Well. That’s a thought. I’ll discuss that with the Mrs. I think she likes the sensor will protect her car, but she dislikes getting out in the rain. Thanks!

    Gate sensor

Good morning, This is sort of pool related. My pool and driveway share a common fence. We have a 20 foot rolling gate across the driveway. It’s powered by a Liftmaster chain driven opener. Due to local pool code requirements, the gate automatically closes after 1 minute. It has a photo...

Building a water autofill by injecting water into the pipes?

I have something very similar. Orbit B-hyve sprinkler controller controlling an orbit sprinkler valve plumbed off my hose bib. Check valve between sprinkler valve and pool plumbing. Back flow preventer on the hose bib.

    SWG plumbing recommendations

Lots to think about. I’m leaning towards the Intellichlor since I already have all Pentair equipment. Hopefully get enough years out it to justify the higher costs. Thank you for all your inputs!

    SWG plumbing recommendations

That’s good info, especially about the customer service. I had a couple of dealings with Pentair customer service—not the worst, but definitely not the best. Thanks!

    SWG plumbing recommendations

The circupool system is definitely in the mix here. Any thoughts as to the Core vs the RJ Plus system? Thanks!

Thanks for the recommendations. I’ll take a look at the Circupool system.

    SWG plumbing recommendations

Thanks. I think it’s about 17 inches for the cell. Maybe I shouldn’t be, but I’m a little worried about concentrated chlorine water flowing back into the heater when the pump shuts down.

    SWG plumbing recommendations

Good afternoon, I’m starting to plan for my SWG installation. I’m planning a Pentair IC20 (10000 gallon pool/spa) with the transformer and surge board inside my load center. I’m looking at a Jandy spring check valve between the heater and the IC20. Below is a picture of the return line going...

    Pentair Screenlogic2 initial setup troubleshooting

Nope. Just the flashing red light from what I remember. What kind of router are you using? I’m not very smart on this stuff, but you might have to reserve an IP address for it. Seems like it has issues with DHCP. You might check if your router has a firewall on it that might block it...

    Pentair Screenlogic2 initial setup troubleshooting

I use to have this setup. Just spitballing here. Have you tried resetting the protocol adapter. Use a paper clip and push the reset button. Try one long push. If that doesn’t work, try 3 pushes.

I think my PB’s electrician wired stuff non standard

Jim R. Good morning. 1) I went to service mode on the panel and the Intelliflo pump panel showed 0 RPM. 2). Traced wiring and relays. The filter pump relay is connected to the Intellicenter filter pump circuit. The filter pump black wire goes to line 1 on the filter pump relay. The filter...

I think my PB’s electrician wired stuff non standard

Jim, I was wondering about the GFCI. I think the electrician went cheap. I’ll do the pump thing tomorrow. We got some rain going right now. Thanks Scott

I think my PB’s electrician wired stuff non standard

Jim R. Thanks for the reply. It’s kinda bugging me right now and I’m kind of an OCD type of guy. I’m also a little unsettled about adding the SCG to a power relay that is already tied to the the filter pump, booster pump, and the blower. I’m going to start planning 😊 Cheers Scott

I think my PB’s electrician wired stuff non standard

i decided to do the Intellicenter upgrade from the EasyTouch. Things went smoothly and everything works fine. I am thinking about upgrading to a SCG so I really started looking at the wiring. Based on the diagram on the panel, I got really confused by his wiring and it appears to be nothing...

Can I fill the pool by adding water to return lines?

I have something like you’re talking about. I have a PVC line running from a hose bib through a sprinkler valve, then a check valve and then into the return side. I use a sprinkler controller to put some water each day.
