    Water is not to get between the Bond Beam and the coping. This will cause problems with exspansive soil if water is introduced.

    How to fix this plaster issue?

    It may get bigger when exposed to air, remove the unstable plaster until solid plaster is present. This product is durable and commonly used for this type of application.

    These cracks are allowing water to come in contact with the Shotcrete shell of the pool that is not water proof.     An overflow pipe could have been installed during construction, this is typical on pools that are at + elevation continuously around the pool. At this point in time, the installation would create a lot of removal and remodeling of the spa, that’s something to consider.

    Because everything worked perfectly in the past and now has troubles, I would have to lean towards a restriction in the plumbing. The Hartford Loop is typically installed inside the spa wall for best performance. How old is the pool and has it been remodeled recently?

    From the picture provided I can’t see any continuation of the crack on either side past the single tile. At this point in time it may be an isolated incident with no underlying structural damage. Typically the grout will show signs of cracking before the tile when movement is involved.
