Thanks Allen - much appreciated. I do have two free RS-485 connector blocks on the Intellichlor Surge Card on the back wall. I will distribute the RS-485 wires to the open connector blocks and eliminate the pigtails. Let me do that and see if that corrects the pump shut down issue.

You also may want to look at installlng a heater bypass. This allows you to run minimal water through the heater to keep it chlorinated and minimize back pressure caused by the heater internals.

I cycle my bubblers and scuppers once per day for 30 minutes to keep them chlorinated. 15 minutes would probably be sufficient. I took that advice from TFP.

I hear you on the hard water - we used to live in Boerne. Due to your very hard water, you will most likely have a water softener on your house. I would suggest you find a way to plumb softened water to your pool water make-up line to help manage the water hardness over time. Good luck.
