    Intellichlor IC60 Remote Monitoring

Thanks Allen. I keep finding details out about my Intellicenter system and equipment that were either set up wrong or not setup at all! The “Chemistry” icon on my Intellicenter main screen was set to “Off” and I had not known that that included my Intellichlor. Once I activated that, I was able...

    Intellichlor IC60 Remote Monitoring

I run my filter pump 24/7 at low flow rates to maintain continuous skimming as well as continuous chlorine generation from my Intellichlor IC60. When we are away from the house for several days to several weeks, we have someone come by to both water our outdoor potted plants as well as clean...

    Erratic Intellicenter Behavior (RESOLUTION)

I worked with the Pentair Technical Support to finally get to the bottom of my issue. In summary, I recently had my two Model No. 011056 SuperFlo VST feature pumps connected to my IntelliCenter via RS485 cabling. My Intellicenter had been upgraded to the 2.017 firmware. Both SuperFlo VST drives...

    Erratic Intellicenter Behavior (RESOLUTION)

Thanks Allen. After this Easter weekend, I will try reverting to the 1.064 Intellicenter version and monitor results. I’m not sure of how long I have had the 2.017 firmware. It may have been updated a month or so ago when my pool company tech installed the Pentair GFCI breakers and RS-485...

    Heater/Chiller Recommendations

Just as a point for comparison. Our pool is half the size of yours and we are in Lake Charles, LA. We seldom use our gas-fired Mastertemp 400K heater but used our Glacier GPC210 chiller daily last summer. Our pool gets little shading during the day, has almost white plaster and would reach...

    Erratic Intellicenter Behavior (RESOLUTION)

I re-distributed the RS-485 cables between the available connector blocks and eliminated the pigtails (see photo). I restarted the system and turned on the two feature pumps (for the bubblers and scuppers). They ran for 22 minutes and shut down again like before. This only happens when...

    Erratic Intellicenter Behavior (RESOLUTION)

Thanks Allen - much appreciated. I do have two free RS-485 connector blocks on the Intellichlor Surge Card on the back wall. I will distribute the RS-485 wires to the open connector blocks and eliminate the pigtails. Let me do that and see if that corrects the pump shut down issue.

    Erratic Intellicenter Behavior (RESOLUTION)

Here are photos of my RS-485 connections. All 3 pumps and the Wireless Antenna cables are wired together and attached to the RS-485-A(J5) com port. Is that correct?

    Erratic Intellicenter Behavior (RESOLUTION)

My Intellicenter firmware version is 2.017. How do I determine the firmware version for my Superflo and Intelliflo pumps?

    Erratic Intellicenter Behavior (RESOLUTION)

I reset my Intellicenter using the Reset button (depressing it for 10 seconds) just below the LCD screen No circuit breakers needed resetting Pump displays are as follows: I’ve attached photos of the two Superflo pump displays and the VSF filter pump display after they shut down Intellicenter...

    Erratic Intellicenter Behavior (RESOLUTION)

Ever since I had my Intellicenter CB’s changed out to GFCI’s and my two feature pumps re-wired up using RS-485 cables a few weeks ago (my filter pump was already hooked up with a RS-485 cable), my Intellicenter has been acting strangely. There are no issues when just my filter VSF pump is...

We Have a Winner! Photo Contest! TFP Pool of the Month (March 2024); Theme - Scenic Views

Thanks everyone. With all the beautiful entries, we are honored to have been chosen. We have the greatest sunsets here in Lake Charles that complement our pool. We moved to Lake Charles from Boerne, TX four years ago to be closer to family in our retirement years. We built our pool and...

    WhisperFlo VS and intelliconnect

You also may want to look at installlng a heater bypass. This allows you to run minimal water through the heater to keep it chlorinated and minimize back pressure caused by the heater internals.

Algae chunks growing between pool tiles

Maybe try a 5” stainless steel bristle pool brush like this one I picked up along the way? Good luck.

    Dig day july 20th

For iron stain spot removal, you may want to consider something like the following. I had similar “iron filings” that got in my pool and this device and vitamin C powder did a good job of removing the stains. Good luck. https://puritypool.com/stainremovers.html

Circulating bypassed equipment (Heater and Bubblers)

I cycle my bubblers and scuppers once per day for 30 minutes to keep them chlorinated. 15 minutes would probably be sufficient. I took that advice from TFP.

New build - advice on pool equipment

Besides the other great advice, my only suggestion is to pay attention to the steps going down into the pool. Make sure the rise per step is not too great for “older” pool users to navigate. Our PB told us that 12 -14” rise stairs are allowed in pools, but those were not comfortable for us to...

    Intellicenter Freeze Protect Mode Malfunctioning

Thank you. I will make those CB and wiring changes. If I buy the RS-485 wiring kits for both Superflo VST feature pumps, are there any tricks in wiring those into the Intellicenter to allow the Intellicenter to program and control those pumps and allow remote access?

    Intellicenter Freeze Protect Mode Malfunctioning

I am back home after being away for several weeks and want to have the installation errors corrected for my Intellicenter, Intellichlor SWCG, and related pumps and heater. You asked above what each relay is attached to: - top left 3 relays (Filter Pump, AUX 1, AUX 2) are empty - top right...

    Light Locations in Rectangular Pool

Our rectangular pool is 13’ wide x 48’ long and our 7 Microbrites are placed along the side away from the house. They provide plenty of illumination for the full width of the pool. Good luck.

    Plumbing Schematic Review - Help?

I hear you on the hard water - we used to live in Boerne. Due to your very hard water, you will most likely have a water softener on your house. I would suggest you find a way to plumb softened water to your pool water make-up line to help manage the water hardness over time. Good luck.

Need help finalizing my pool design

You may not need it with the sunshade cover, but you may want to consider at least plumbing for a chiller and allowing space on your equipment pad for that large piece of equipment. I also suggest thinking about where a convenient place would be to do your water testing and including an...

    Intellicenter Freeze Protect Mode Malfunctioning

Allen, I‘m getting all my “horses in a row” before calling my PB who installed my pool in 2022. I want to clearly point out everything they did wrong on my Intellicenter wiring based preferably on Pentair requirements and also NEC wiring requirements. As mentioned earlier, I think mine was one...

    Intellicenter Freeze Protect Mode Malfunctioning

Got it. I only normally run the water feature pumps 30 minutes per day at low speeds to ensure the piping stays chlorinated. As you can probably see, my Intellicenter installation was one of my PB’s first installations of that type and it shows! They had it rigged up some other way that allowed...

    Intellicenter Freeze Protect Mode Malfunctioning

See photo. The Pump Com Ports are not connected on either pump so I guess the PB used another means to externally connect? Should I return the wires back to the relays and have the PB service techs troubleshoot the issue? Should I request they use the RS-485 method to allow external connection...

    Intellicenter Freeze Protect Mode Malfunctioning

Thanks Allen. I’ll have the GFCI and SWG issues addressed in the next few days. I’ve done the wiring you suggested by wirenutting the wires together but the control for those two pumps is still at the pump panels. How do I disable the control panels at the two pumps and switch to the RS-485...
