    Expansion Joint Filler

I just did Deck-O-Seal, and even though it's a little bit labor intensive, it came out great. Just make sure your foam underneath is in good shape. I let my pool and deck settle for a couple years, but the foam started to break down. A couple spots the caulk seeped down and left a void. I had to...

Could they be from a bottle of a chemical or maybe from your cleaner if you use one?

    Changing default liquid chlorine percentage?

Just read this and didn't realize I never left a review for the App. Pool Math is by far my favorite App. I have just left a 5 star review!! Thanks for keeping the App going and updated!!

Featured New pool owner, maybe getting there, maybe not

No Clarifier. Just follow the SLAM process. Also, when Chlorine is above 10ppm, the Ph test is invalid. The SLAM will work. You are closer than you think to clear water. To avoid this next spring, when you close this fall, bring Chlorine up to half SLAM and close as late as you can. Then, in...

Can not get pH to come down

So chalk it up to a new pool, rising Ph. My pool is going on its 4th season and this is the first season my Ph has not been constantly rising. It seems to have settled down. It still heads over 8, but I just bump it down to 7.6. My first season I was thinking bring Ph way down(low 7's) and it...

Can not get pH to come down

Three things could be contributing to this. 1. Are you using 31.45% Muriatic Acid or half strength, maybe "Green"? 2. Your pool volume is higher than you think. 3. Your Ph is higher than you think, and it is only coming down to 8.0 with acid additions.

Pool Cover Pump - weep hole

I have the Little Giant cover pump that came with my cover. I have used it for three winters and have not had to remove any debris that clogs it. I get leaves and pine needles. I do, however, occasionally get a skimmer net and try to remove leaves an other debris. It sounds like a design flaw...

First ever green water in 11 years

I agree, opening late is not good. What was the Chlorine level when it was closed? I opened the last week of April, and I had a little cloudiness. Could your cover have been compromised during the winter? If so, any cover opening would allow debris in and could create algae.

Concrete deck orange spots is this normal?

Concrete deck orange spots is this normal?

I have the same spots and hoping power washing will take care of it.

Hayward Heater Smoking and Smelling, but working..

I leave mine uncovered over the winter. Moisture will build up under a cover even in cold weather.

Hayward Heater Smoking and Smelling, but working..

Tarping your heater traps moisture and most likely contributed to the corrosion.

    Filling with cover still on

The only down side to filling with the cover still on, is that the rainwater on top of the cover will not settle in the middle to be pumped off. The rainwater will be spread out on top of the cover. Removing a cover with dirty rainwater is not something anyone wants to do for fear of spilling it...

    Aquapure 1400 Code 120

How old is the cell? How are you testing the salt level(just relying on the display?)? Have you cleaned the flow sensor?

    Unsure about my salt testing

I don't understand why someone in Canada can't find a salt test, IN CANADA. Doesn't the country of Canada need to test salt levels? Maybe it is cheaper for you to send a sample of your water to someone in the US to test the salt.

    Unsure about my salt testing

You need the K-1766 Salt Test from Taylor. It is the only one I trust. I actually recalibrate my SWCG to match that salt test. It's probably the most expensive test, but it's worth it to me.

    Pool cover anchor question

They will "blacken" over time. They are made of brass to hold up to the weather. You'll get used to them and eventually will blend in.

    Aquapure 1400 Error

6 seasons is a win for you:party:!! Consider yourself lucky and that the cell is a consumable and will always need to be replaced in the future.

    Ph question

Call it 7.2 and do some skipping around your pool!! You're lucky! I would love to have that color on my Ph. I'm constantly dealing with purple at 8.2

Aren't pools always green when they are opened?

I also believe that a solid cover is the key. But, it must be properly sealed to the deck or pool so it limits what gets in, whether that be an anchored spring loaded cover or proper water bags .

    Wanted: Dolphin Active30 Weight

Really? a $1.99 part. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Something seems fishy though, in the description it says it weighs 4oz.

    Wanted: Dolphin Active30 Weight

I would contact Maytronics and show them that picture. Hopefully, you registered it, and even though it may be out of warranty, they should make it right and send you a set free. You have me worried now, as I have the same robot about the same age as yours. I guess your anode is not doing its...

    Ciblanc Stirrer eating batteries--fixed

*Rubber Expansion Plugs Stuck in Jets... Need Some Help!

You have to "wiggle" them out. Don't pull straight out. Try pulling at an angle to release the top of the plug first, then the bottom. Those plugs seem to be in way to far though. I would call the company that closed the pool and have them pull them out. If all else fails, you may have to drill...

    LED Remote Control

Are you sure this is an LED light? I would think LED lights would need to be fully replaced and not just bulbs. Anyhow, when I turn my lights on at the pad with the switch, I can get the color to stay the same. Mine only changes color when I turn it on and off quickly. Are you saying every...

Jandy Salt Cell 1400 Code 121

I take mine in for the winter, but I have the Fusion Soft 1400 that is a vessel that holds the cell. I put in a "dummy" cell that is dead to seal the vessel off. You would need a section of PVC to fill in the void left by taking yours out.

The Ghost in the Machine is Back......

Nice. You are at "Hotel Haze" phase of your SLAM. I am a little concerned now about my water. I peeked under the cover a couple weeks ago and it was clear. Might have to open sooner than I usually do(May 1).
