Solar pool cover & reel advice for in-ground pool

I'd get the 21ft if your pool is 18ft. That's what I'd do. You should be able to shorten it to 18ft and I feel like it'd give it more support and not sag in the middle. I have the 18 and use it at 16 and have no issues with sagging. That's my thought process on it.

Thinking of Opening Myself for the First Time…

I have been opening my fiberglass pool by myself every year since it was installed. I pull the cover and let it dry on the lawn. I put the cell back on the plumbing and tighten the fittings around the manifold and pump. Pull the plugs from the returns and the gizmo from the skimmer. Put the...

Let’s see your water after removing winter cover!! *PICS THREAD*

I think about how many years I've been here and it blows my mind. I started here when I needed to learn how to take care of the new pool I needed my kids to have and be able swim in it every single day of summer if they wanted. The neighbor kids had pools and they were always at my house! Id...

Let’s see your water after removing winter cover!! *PICS THREAD*

I'm going to pull the cover this weekend. I'm behind in opening when I usually open first week of April. I've been working full time, I'm trying to run a new candle business full time and I just don't have enough of this "time thing" in my day to do everything I need to do. I'm ready though...

Let’s see your water after removing winter cover!! *PICS THREAD*

I pulled the cover back to check the water level and it was crystal clear. I was surprised because it's a mesh cover. I have worms in the deep end. I'd like to pull the cover soon but don't want to be like @Newdude.

Solar pool cover & reel advice for in-ground pool

I'm going on the 3rd summer this year with it. I love it! It's been light and sturdy enough for me to put it on my shoulder and store it for winterizing and bringing it back out for summer. It hasn't sagged yet!

    Imagine Illusion 40 Complete 10/19/21

It's about 3- 4 weekends of work. I had to remove a lot of dirt and weeds too. This seems like the last weekend of 50-60° days n I pushed to get it done. I want to do the right side of the pump but I'll wait til next spring.

    Imagine Illusion 40 Complete 10/19/21

It's been awhile since updating this thread. I just completed a stone patio around the pump to combat weeds. I believe this will cut down on that tremendously! I got what I wanted done today. I'll pick it back up in the spring. I'm beat but very happy with the outcome of the project I took on.

    DIY Fiberglass Pool Advice

Here is the placement of my returns and the lights. Returns are on the left side of pool looking down towards deepend and lights are on the right. I get great circulation with this set up. The fact that I have 2 returns on the tanning ledge prevents stagnant/standing water. You can also see the...
