Would like some help. We live In Wisconsin and currently have the blowup 18’ intex pool. We have had for three years and take down every year. I’ m tired of taking it down and would like to purchase one we could leave up. Does anyone have a metal type frame intex pool that they leave up during the winter snow? I’ m looking for advice on which intex pool would withstand our winter if we left it up. I did see a post and a picture from someone in Wisconsin ( jseyfert3) that leaves his pool up, but cant seem to find again. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Nicole

There are lots of people who do leave their metal frame Intex pools up. Unfortunately @jseyfert3 doesn’t post anymore, but there are other folks who do live in cold weather places. I’ll see if I can remember some who are still active and tag them.

Hey Nicole and Welcome !!!

So any imperfections in the finish of your frame will invite the rust which will be it's downfall.

IMO you will do more damage by trying to preserve it, and be concerned with critters nesting / eating the stored liner. Many leave it up the same as traditional above grounds and they all do fine.

Funny you say that.. our intex easy up did have tiny holes every year from being in garage for winter. Im hoping to buy an ultra xtr intex pool and leave up over the winter.

Any advice on how to winterize?

It couldn't be easier. Plug the holes with the included caps and empty the equipment/pipes and bring it inside. (It's all small).

You can cover it if you have heavy debris, or leave it open as per any above ground. Or you can cover it just while the fall crud is dropping, then leave it open.

Thank you. Im going to purchase the pool and leave up using your advice. I love my intex easy up but really tired of putting it up and down every year.
