Good afternoon noon. Question for this group. Our new pool has a slightly unique (at least I haven't seen one) elevation/profile. We are 20x45, with 3 full width sections, a tanning shelf that is 18" deep and 5 ft long, a "play" section that is 4' deep and 20' long, then it drops directly to 9' feet deep and 20' long for diving and what not.

I recently purchased the Aiper Scuba S1. Have given it a go, and I don't think it is the robot for me. It cleans the walls just fine, and our deep end just fine, but for the shelf and play area, it hits the edge and falls off, hence the deep end always getting a thorough cleaning.

Is there a bot that can handle this floor elevation? or am I doomed to manual vacuuming?

Thank you!

So if I am understanding the depth profile, there are 90 deg drop offs from the shelf to the shallow section and then again from the shallow section to the deep section.

I doubt any cleaner can handle that as those drop offs become “walls” with one at 2.5ft and the other at 5ft.

That is correct. And what I am starting to believe. Unless there is a cleaner that can be “programmed” or “mapped”

Actually what is needed is a iRobot room vacuum type cleaner that has a sensor to prevent it from falling down stairs when it reaches an edge. I have not heard of any bot with that for a pool.

Curious if anyone has used the beatbot aquasense pro, and its "intelligent" mapping? Would it work in this scenario with our unique pool floor?

Our pool is similar to yours—What we have historically done is have two robots-and tether them so one cleans the cannonball well and the other does the sporting/play area. That was a pretty efficient solution for us, allowing us to make sure the whole pool was done. Our Dolphin died at the end of last season, so we’re in the market now, too. We purchased an EVO from Marina-but we are not in love with it after about a week of use-it’s missing alot more than the dolphin did. I’m super curious about that BeatBot, too…

Thank you. I appreciate it!

I've been in a conversation with beatbot team, and the aquasense pro *should* be able to solve for the entire pool. they have a "beta" feature called "zoned" control, designed for pools with multiple "large" shelfs. Now the debate is, do I care enough to spend $2000. They also have a 30-day money back return policy.

I will likely pull the trigger for at least 30 days but thats a lot of cheddar to do something I can assign my kids to do 🤣🤣

Something I haven’t seen discussed yet in relation to the BeatBot Pro, is introducing Chitosan to our TFP methods… Any DOWNSIDE to this???

Also, am I reading this correctly on their website? Are they offering a 3-year warranty now? I noticed some concerns in the other BeatBot thread about the two-year warranty, so it seems like the company made a quick adjustment. I’m also impressed that those of you who have reached out to them have had positive experiences so far.

TFP doesn't recommend the use of clarifiers.
In 99.9% of cases it just isn't needed.

See this new thread.

@HermanTX, have you decided what you’re going to do?
I have the Aiper Scuba 1 (standard). It is fine in my pool as it is a sport pool - 4ft to 5.5ft back to 4ft depth. It has no issue with the inclines. Mine is also a freeform pool and it starts off going across the narrow width of the pool and as it nears the "corner" it changes to going the lengthwise direction. So it covers the whole pool. I run only in floor mode. Have not tried side mode yet as now with swimming daily I brush down some of the walls & steps & bench manually while in the pool.

I have a Bettabot SE Plus surface skimmer robot that runs full time on the surface. Works great.

I have put my Polaris 280 pressure side cleaner to rest in my garage.
