In another SWG related thread I saw a note indicating a particular brand of SWG should be run at the lower range of the recommended salt level... Is there a reference guide here somewhere that goes into recommendations for various SWGs?

For my case specifically, what is the optimal salt level for an IC-40? We open the pool tomorrow and after draining for closing last year and multiple fill/drain cycles from a wet winter I am going to have to add a good deal of salt and don't want to overdo it.

I shoot for 3200 at opening and then I let it be until the ICXX complains near 2800. It produces at a reduced rate down to 2600 with the idiot light on, and shuts off after that.

Ideal salt is 3600. It's printed right on the cell.

Between 2800 and 4500 is acceptable. Red low salt light illuminates at 2800. Very low salt is below 2600 (cell will not produce FC). Above 4500 activates the high salt light (green LED flashing).

Older cells actually state 3400 as ideal…..I have one on my pad (2017 mfr date) that states such. Not sure when pentair implemented the change, but I’ve seen 3600 on the newer ones and in current documentation.
