Dolphin gear is slipping

What can I do about my gear slipping? When it does the tracks stop moving because it can't get a solid connection to the smaller gear and just slips.
Thanks for any recommendations. I can't compare to new, so I can't tell what if anything is worn down.

You need a hub and bearing replacement:

and maybe a drive gear

Unfortunately, they are currently back ordered on Marina.

I made a drive gear STL as I was having the same issue. You'll want to shim out your drive wheel or it'll probably all go wrong again.

Thanks! What is the best way to shim the wheels as you mentioned? I have a Pentair Dolphin Warrior SE. 2.5 years old. Goes through the check, runs like normal backwards, struggles to move forward. Guessing it is worn rear wheels, bushings and the drive gear looks a bit worn.

This is awesome! iam printing this tomorrow! any change you have the frontwheels and the brush gear also? living on a remote island this is great!

You'll have to model a ring for how much wear you have. It should be an easy thing to do as compared to the gear which was a pain.

Just the gear since I couldn't find any to buy at the time.

Just a follow up, the new gear fixed my issue for a bit but now it would appear as though the entire chassis is deflecting/warping causing the drive unit to pull towards the center of the large wheel and causing the new gear not to mesh and slip. Made it 6 months though :( As far as I can tell there isn't any way to fix this besides a new case?

You need to replace the wheel hub as well and probably the brush assembly. They both have slip bearings that wear.

I have no idea what these mean, or how you do them:

- drive gear STL (what does the stl stand for?)
- what does "shim the wheel" mean, or how do you do that?
- You'll have to model a ring for how much wear you have.

Seems like the Dolphin products are built to break, and for the money they cost, seems like that's not a great investment. I've been on three threads where the slipping gear issue seems to not have a solid solution, even a replacement gear for motor and wheel seemed to fit a bit loose.

Those are plastic hydraulic bearings so they are designed to wear like that and eventually have to be replaced. No different than the brakes or tires on your car.

STL - File format for cad drawings

This is so you can 3-D print them.

But it is not all that expensive to just replace the parts as I post in #2:
