Greetings all. We purchased a home with a saltwater pool in Staten Island NY

I have never cared for a pool before.

One thing is the home and inspector noted
we did not have a bonding wire between the heater and the pump. I was going to add the copper wire my self

Here’s the equipment we have
Haywood AquaRite Electronic Chlorine generator

Haywood H200FD heater. The control panel buttons on this look pretty messed up

Haywood self priming pump. Not sure of the model as it covered for the wintet

The pool is scheduled to be opened May 9th and I hoping all components are working.

I ‘m sure I will be asking lots of questions as I have no clue how to maintain this pool. Seems everyone I talk to gives me different opinions.

A contractor doing work on my house mentioned the chlorine generator will
do a lot of the work for me. I plan on bringing the water weekly to a local pool
supplier for testing

Hey Stan and Welcome !!!
Seems everyone I talk to gives me different opinions.
They DO, and it's impossible advice to follow. 'They' want you to run your FC (chlorine) at 1 to 3 ppm. But the sun will burn off up to 4ppm a day in the peak season and you can't have a negative 1 to 3 ppm FC. Lol.

You can have algae, rashes and tons of headaches though. Then they'll sell you ooodles of expensive products to magange the algae while never addressing the being unsanitary that causes it.

Anywho. We got you. You need your own Taylor drop based test kit and we can show you the way.

Here is our pools on the cheap and easy :

Is there a bonding wire elsewhere ? You need to have one that the pump and heater bond to. They don't just connect to themselves.

Get us pics from multiple angles. You can uncover the equipment this late in the season to do so. Mines already running.

Does the photo named bonding wire show a bonding wire between the pump and salt cell?
It looks like a communication wire, maybe for the flow switch. You're looking for an unjacketed wire in the area, possibly hooked up to any (should be all) of the equipment panels.
