Intex/Soft side pools- Can I use a 10Kw or (bigger) heater to the same temps as a solid wall pools?

Hello everyone, I live in Northern Canada where temperatures, even in summer, are not always hot. Due to this, I am looking for information on getting a electric pool heater. I have no NG and electricity in my region is subsidized, so power consumption is not a big concern. Most importantly, I want comfortable and consistent water temperatures. My question is, I cannot find any information on how this would work with an Intex pool and the intex heater seems silly.

However, even though my power is subsidized, nothing else is, so I am looking at an Intex, 12x24 pool.- Can they be heated with a 10Kw or more heater to 26c- 30c/ 80f-35f and stay in that temp range for 3 or more months at ??

Additionally, if you are responding with a yes, please feel free to share any suggestions on which heaters would be most suitable. Thanks you in advance.

Welcome to TFP.

Are you asking about a Heat Pump or an electrical resistance heater?

Can you show us some links of heaters that are available in your area so we can give you specific guidance?

Heating a pool is all about BTUs for the number of gallons of water in the pool. The more BTUs the better.

How many gallons would be in the Intex pools you are considering?

If you're using a traditional heat pump, you may need new equipment also if the intex pump doesn't trigger the flow switch.

Appreciate your support. The pool is listed as holding 8400 gallons.

I’m looking at a 15kw heater called a Kline.

That heater will heat the pool 1/2 degree per hour best case.

You will need to keep the pool covered to retain the heat generated.
