Of that age when my knees are starting to go out, still in the phase of getting various shots and injections. Replacement is still a ways down the road. Hurts a lot to kneel on a concrete surface. Not looking forward to pool chores. I probably can use pads, etc. to alleviate the issues with startup - removing plugs, inserting eyeballs, lights, etc. Has anyone come up with a handy way to pull out skimmer baskets for cleaning while standing? Not looking forward to that frequent, repetitive task all summer.....

Had mine for years, kept outside all the time, and still looks brand new. Also allows you to "twirl" the skimmer basket as you are pulling it out to suck all the debris over the basket opening. And the little hook on the other end lets you pull off the skimmer lid on the deck so you don't have to bend down to do that either! This assumes you have the standard lids with a hole in the middle and the baskets with a bar across the top.

@#$%&! pool store! In the many years I bought replacement baskets from them, there never was a bar....which would make it so much easier when using any number of gadgets like shown above. I was trying to figure out doing it with barless baskets. My use of rope last year just wasn't optimal....and the knees weren't as bad....
Thanks for the suggestions, and now am adding another thing to buy from Amazon rather than the local store.....
