    Spa jets no go?

I've excavated about 5 wheelbarrows full of gravel  and found no pinches. I disconnected the water at the jet and turned on the valve. There is volume, but not much pressure. If I hold it straight up, I get maybe 2" of water column (this is with the 3 primary returns open). I have a...

    Spa jets no go?

Yes, for water. It’s 3/4” which, I think, would be pretty hard to crush, plus hard to imagine it got crushed equally on both sides? Regardless, I’m working to expose the manifold.

New EVO 614i Robot Pool Cleaner Review

It's a new pool and we covered it late in the season last year, half full of water and already a good amount of "gunk" at the bottom. After getting it topped up and the equipment finally running last week, I tried the EVO first, but it clogged up in about 2 minutes. The algae and gunk was nice...

    Spa jets no go?

I thought I'd be clever with my pool build and I added a couple of Waterway Power Storm jets to each side of my pool steps (8' "sit n step"). I plumbed it using 1.5" PVC to back of the steps, then used a waterway 4 way manifold (2 outlets capped) and 3/4" flex PVC to feed each jet. When I...

New EVO 614i Robot Pool Cleaner Review

After manually vacuuming, I set the EVO loose and after 2-1/2 hours, love the results! It picks up a few stones, the missing end caps for the stair liner bead that I dropped in accidentally, and several leaves that I didn't even know were down there.

Old polymer sided inground pool needs new coping....

Ouch! That looks painful! Looks like you backfilled with dirt? Settling/compaction and/or erosion probably caused your deck to sink. Really should have used gravel. Anyway, if the coping really is part of the wall itself, it doesn't appear to be structurally relevant, at least.

New EVO 614i Robot Pool Cleaner Review

Dropped it into the pool for the first time yesterday and it did a great job...at clogging up with algae :) I was hoping to avoid a traditional vacuuming for this new pool's first cleaning after winter, but not so much! I was expecting too much, I know. On the plus side, it did help agitate...

The more i research equipment the more confused and frustrate i get.

I installed a 36x18 polymer-walled vinyl-liner pool last summer. Didn't get everything finished by winter and still haven't flipped the switch just yet. I went with a Hayward VS 900 1.85HP. Can't tell you if I'm happy with it yet though, but it seems to have plenty of positive reviews. For...

Tip for polymer wall pool builders

Got the liner out of the track. Was quite easy with more sun, but especially rubber gloves (in my case, rubber coated fabric). The rubber gloves helped provide enough grip to pull the liner up, and a small screwdriver was used to coax the bead out. I pulled out about 2 foot sections at a...

Tip for polymer wall pool builders

...which leads to a question. Any tips on how to get the liner unhooked from the coping? I tried hot water and then a heat gun, along with a plunger to stretch it - no dice so far. Just can't get enough slack. Maybe just not getting it warm enough? Seems to cool pretty quickly.

New DIY IG Pool Build Pittsburgh PA

If they won't do it, could you reduce the depth of the deep end to compensate, or is there a "rule" for that too?

Makes more sense to me. This can be an iterative process. Just tell them what you want to change and they should adjust.

Tip for polymer wall pool builders

We built a polymer walled pool last year (DIY) and got to the point of installing the liner, filling it to about 2/3, and backfilling. Then it was covered for the winter. Last Fall, I watched a video from "Swimming Pool Steve" where he mentioned liner coping failure on some polymer wall pools...
